News & Updates
Some great news! 😍 Subject to everything going well, we now know that the earliest swimming pools can open is from 12th April 🥳 The decision to reopen in stage two underlines the excellent safety record pools have achieved and we will continue to go above and beyond all safety guidelines necessary to allow our Wizards to get back to enjoying their swimming! ⭐
For now, we will continue to monitor Government/Governing Body updates and carefully plan with our pool operators a safe return date for existing swimmers at NSG (Stages 4-10) and NSB (Stages 3-10) and be in touch via email before April ✅
Hopefully, once restrictions are lifted later in the year, we can finally see the phased return of our beginner swimmers too! 🥰
❌ Today’s news is another huge blow for us all at Water Wizards as Northampton enters Tier 4 “stay at home” restrictions. Sadly, as a result swimming pools must now close, and all lessons are suspended until further notice 😔 If you have re-enrolled for January (Stages 4-10 at NSG, Stages 3-10 at NSB), we will email you individually with further information once we have had a chance to digest everything ❌
We are very aware that due to these continued restrictions we have not seen any of our beginner swimmers for so long and our more experienced swimmers have faced a stop start situation. None of this is ideal but we try and remain positive, the roll out of the vaccine will hopefully mean no further lockdowns and a return to some sort of normality for us all 📢
Thank you again for your patience and understanding. We look forward to seeing all our Wizards again as soon as it is safe to do so 🏊♀ Stay safe and look after each other ❤️
We are delighted to be able to swim again from Thursday 3rd December (NSB Stages 3-10) (NSG Stages 4-10) Our commitment to offering Covid-secure swimming lessons remains as strong as ever. I am pleased the Government continue to recognise how safe Covid-secure swimming is by allowing under 18 lessons to carry on in ALL the new tiers We can continue to do what we do best – fun, progressive, and most importantly safe swimming lessons! Please keep an eye on your inbox as further details will be emailed out shortly Thank you! Zoe and the Water Wizards Team
As you probably know by now, the Government has imposed a new national lockdown starting from Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December. Unfortunately, this includes swimming pools. After all our hard work making our lessons Covid-secure and receiving such amazing feedback we are heartbroken that once again we must close from Thursday
As a result, all lessons at Northampton School for Girls (NSG) will be suspended from Thursday 5th November Lessons on Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th will go ahead as planned We aim to finish the remaining 2 weeks of the current swim term week commencing Monday 7th December.
All lessons at Northampton School for Boys (NSB) will be suspended from Thursday 05th November with the aim of starting the new swim term from Thursday 03rd December.
Start back dates are provisional based upon the national lockdown ending on 2nd December as stated by the Prime Minister.
We will email you all individually with the exact details once we have had a chance to digest the new information
Unlike before (due to being Covid-secure) swimming lessons for under 18s can reopen (regardless of what tier Northampton ends up in) as soon as the national lockdown is ended
I can only thank you all once again for your continued support and assure you we will be back as soon as the national lockdown has ended. Keep safe everyone.
I cannot be prouder of how well our Wizards adapted to the new Covid secure measures we have in place at NSG and NSB ⭐ It has been an absolute pleasure to welcome them back and engage with such enthusiastic and good spirited swimmers. They have all been fantastic! 🥳 To be able to safely offer this slice of normality each week has been made possible because of the dedicated Water Wizards team, those at NSG and NSB who assisted and, YOU for trusting us to deliver what we promised. Thank you ❤️
If you swim with us at NSG the current swim term continues for 2 more weeks after the holiday. If you swim with us at NSB the new swim term starts 05/11. Stay safe and we will see you again after the holiday ⭐🧙
It means so much to me that you trusted us to deliver safe, Covid-secure swimming lessons for our Stages 4-10 Wizards at NSG this week and NSB 4(!) weeks ago 😍 We have had such an overwhelmingly positive response to the procedures in place and I cannot thank team Water Wizards enough for the extra time spent training and getting it right first time ❤️ To see our Wizards finally enjoying their swimming again and excitedly letting us know just how much they missed it has been amazing ⭐️ Thank you for your support and understanding while we safely try and bring back a sense of normality to those that have already missed so much this year 🥰 We will be updating our beginner stages 1-3 (red and yellow hats) via email in the near future ⭐️🧙
THANK YOU so much for your overwhelming support during our safe return to swimming at NSB I hope our Stage 4-10 Wizards enjoyed getting back into the swim of things as much as we did! To say it has been stressful getting this far is quite the understatement but as I have said all along, we do this for our Wizards! If you swim with us at NSG, re-enrolment emails are being prepared!
Our final Covid training session is complete If you swim with us at NSG or NSB we will never compromise on safety! We cannot wait to welcome our Wizards back to NSB next week for the start of our Covid secure swimming lessons. Please remember to read all the information we previously sent via email, also available to view on our website. If you swim with us at NSG, your wait is almost over!!
10/09/2020 Rule of six
Sport England – While social gatherings of more than six people will be banned in England from 14 September, the government’s confirmed that organised sports and activities that have been through return to play protocols can continue, as can organised outdoor sports and physical activity events such as park run, which is due to return next month.
People can also continue to use leisure facilities, including gyms and pools – classes within these venues can continue as they are now. People should not go to these venues socially in groups of more than six.
I am absolutely delighted to say NSB Stage 4-10 re-enrolment emails have all gone out and we cannot wait to see you all again!!! ⭐ Please help us by confirming if you want your Wizard(s) to join us again by replying to your email no later than 05/09, after which time, spaces will be made available to our waiting list. We are still working with NSG on a return date, an email update was sent out yesterday 😁 Check your spam folder if you have not received anything! 👻 Thank you all for your continued support ⭐🧙
A HUGE thank you for all your lovely positive messages of support! I have always said we unashamedly operate a safety-first policy at Water Wizards, and this takes a little extra time and training. Behind the scenes we are still busy implementing all the Covid secure guidelines to ensure a safe return to swimming at NSG and NSB
I am pleased to say those who swim with us at NSB will get an email later this week with information about how Phase 1 of our Covid secure swimming lessons will work. Those who swim with us at NSG will need to wait a little bit longer until our Phase 1 plans have been agreed by the school. Stay safe and we hope to see you all soon!
After Thursdays Government announcement, we are absolutely delighted to finally have some positive news about a return to swimming! 😍 Over the last few months, we have attended numerous webinars, zoom meetings and online training courses to better prepare for a safe return and we cannot wait to see you all again! ⭐
For now, we know things won’t be the same as before but rest assured, our commitment to putting safety above everything else is now stronger than ever. As always, you can continue to trust us to go above and beyond any guidelines necessary for a covid-secure environment. Once finalised, we will gladly share with you our full risk assessments, enhanced cleaning regimes, new pool procedures and our plans for a phased return to give you full confidence in our ability to keep everyone safe.
I’m sure other swim schools and leisure facilities will be rushing to start back and from all your messages, a lot of Wizards really want to get back too (and so do we!) but our intention is to take a cautious and measured approach. Working closely with our partners at NSG and NSB our aim is to start back after the summer holidays, giving swimmers enough time to settle back into school life first. More information will follow over the summer so keep an eye out for further emails.
Finally, thank you for all your supportive messages, pictures, and patience over the last few months. keep safe and we will see you all again soon. Zoe everyone at Water Wizards Swim School ⭐🧙
Considering the statement made by the Government concerning the coronavirus and “non-essential contact with others” it is with regret that we are suspending all our lessons with immediate effect. We will continue when it is considered safe for all our Wizards, Parents/Guardians and staff to do so. See your emails for further details. As a small local business, we thank you for your continued loyalty and support at this very difficult time and ask that you keep safe and follow all relevant guidance. Zoe and all the Team at Water Wizards Swim School.
Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19) guidance
We will be following the new guidance issued tonight by Public Health England with immediate effect and ask all Parents/Guardians to do the same.
Stay at home: guidance for people with confirmed or possible coronavirus (COVID-19) infection
Symptoms: the most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:
New continuous cough, and/or high temperature
If you have symptoms of coronavirus infection (COVID-19), however mild, stay at home and do not leave your house for 7 days from when your symptoms started.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND LESSONS.
- this action will help protect others in your community whilst you are infectious.
- plan ahead and ask others for help to ensure that you can successfully stay at home.
- ask your employer, friends and family to help you to get the things you need to stay at home.
- stay at least 2 metres (about 3 steps) away from other people in your home whenever possible.
- sleep alone, if that is possible.
- wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, each time using soap and water.
- stay away from vulnerable individuals such as the elderly and those with underlying health conditions as much as possible.
- you do not need to call NHS111 to go into self-isolation. If your symptoms worsen during home isolation or are no better after 7 days contact NHS 111 online. If you have no internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.
Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)
We continue to follow current guidance issued by the government and NHS and ask all Parents/Guardians to do the same. If you have been in contact with someone with coronavirus or have returned from an affected area and you are feeling unwell with a cough, difficulty breathing or fever, stay at home and use the NHS 111 online coronavirus service or call NHS 111.
Public Health England recommends that the following general cold and flu precautions are taken to help prevent people from catching and spreading coronavirus:
Wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds (See hand washing guidance).
Always wash your hands when you get home or into work.
Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available.
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze.
Put used tissues in the bin straight away and wash your hands afterwards.
Try to avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.
If you are worried about symptoms, please call NHS 111. Do not go to your GP, other healthcare environment or attend lessons.
Thank you for your cooperation.
